Warm tropical waters of the Coral Sea lap the shores of  Newell Beach, just 40 metres away and the beach provides pleasant walking between creek and river.  You may see fish jumping - especially when the giant manta-rays are around or pelicans watching the locals as they net the prawns and bait.  Sugar-cane paddocks adjoin the back boundary and kookaburras, sunbirds and Ulysses butterflies are at home  here.  Our resident "Cocky" just loves the ladies.
